Development begins with dialogue – 15th Świętokrzyskie Mineral Processing Meeting in Kielce
For years, we’ve been committed to advancing the industry, and this anniversary edition confirmed that dialogue between science and industry is the key to innovation.
The conference was officially opened by Dr. Piotr Pasiowiec, Eng. Marcin Filipek, and Mariusz Hochel, M.A., who emphasized the role of the event in promoting innovation and collaboration for the development of the sector.
Over two days, participants attended a series of presentations covering both technological solutions and science-industry initiatives, including:
- Leszek Strączyński, M.A. (Progress Eco S.A.) – The role of the value chain in building the competitive advantage of the Progress Industrial Group.
- Jerzy Wajs, M.Sc. Eng., and Grzegorz Rygiel, M.Sc. Eng. (Progress Eco S.A.) – Modern industrial screens for classification and separation of mineral raw materials.
- Klaudia Bańczyk, M.Sc. Eng. (Progress Eco S.A.) – Innovative industrial screening machines.
- Bogdan Skruch, M.Sc. Eng. (Progress Eco S.A.) and Marcin Zniszczoł, M.Sc. Eng. (Jastrzębska Coal Company S.A.) – Dewatering screen for ultra-fine particles and its applications.
- Paulina Malatyńska, Ph.D. Eng., and Dawid Jung, M.Sc. Eng. (EMM Industry) – Performance of EMM PUMP systems under demanding conditions.
- Wojciech Sitarski, M.Sc. Eng. (Hochel Group) – Technological and operational challenges in manufacturing plants.
- Paweł Jamski, M.Sc. Eng. (PFTechnology Sp. z o.o.) – New technologies for treating industrial wastewater.
- Prof. Jan Hupka, D.Sc. Eng. (Gdańsk University of Technology) – Collaboration between the Polish Mineral Processing Society and industry.
- Prof. Magdalena Wdowin, D.Sc. Eng. (IGSMiE PAN) – Utilization of energy industry waste materials.
- Prof. Marcin Lutyński, D.Sc. Eng. (Silesian University of Technology) – Materials for sensible and latent heat storage from mining waste and natural sorbents.
- Daniel Kowol, Ph.D. Eng. (KOMAG) – The H2GEO project: A concept for reclaiming mining waste landfills.
- Mirosław Cholewa, M.Sc. Eng. (Południowy Koncern Węglowy S.A., Janina Mine) – Modernization of the Mechanical Coal Processing Plant.
- Krzysztof Rogalski, M.Sc. Eng. (Polish Mining Group S.A.) – Modern processing plants and PGG’s branded products.
- Marek Lenartowicz, Ph.D. Eng. (JSW S.A.) – Circular economy practices at JSW processing facilities.
The meeting concluded with a discussion panel, where experts analyzed the main challenges and future directions for sustainable development and circular economy implementation in Poland’s raw materials sector. The importance of collaboration between science and industry, as well as investments in innovation and environmentally friendly technologies, was strongly emphasized.
